Enduro Issue 16

Issue 16, Jimi’s issue, will hit stands on Wednesday.  The process of putting it together has been really different without Jimi at the helm, but the enthusiasm and passion from other members of the riding community, and the regular Enduro crew, has been very motivating.  I’ve taken on more of an editing role this time around, and its been really uplifting to see what a buzz all the content from other contributors would have given Jimi as well.

There is a beautiful tribute section in memory of James with photos that make you stop and think and words from some of the people close to him in various aspects of his life.  There have been several big races since the last issue, so there is also a stack of events coverage alongside a winter testing section and the regular B-sides.  Actually, so much has happened we had to add several extra pages making it – I’m pretty certain – the thickest issue to date.

Thank you to everyone who has helped bring Issue 16 together.  We hope it’s one you’ll want to keep and look back on from time to time.

Stripping Bare – 2010 ADSA Conference

The 2010 ADSA Conference, themed ‘Stripping Bare’, is being held at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra from 29 June to 2 July.  This is the annual conference of the Australasian Association for Theatre, Drama and Performance Studies.  Attending, sharing ideas, and feeling like part of a greater academic community always gives a big lift to the private research time that takes place before and after.

The abstract for the paper I’ll be presenting is below.  As always, I’d be interested to hear any thoughts or feedback on this work, so don’t hold back!Continue reading “Stripping Bare – 2010 ADSA Conference”

SRAM Singletrack Mind Enduro – Rd 3

Not much beats post-event pancakes in winter!

“I reckon the secret to riding well at something like this is all in the preparation,” I wrote to my teammate, ACT Merida team rider Shane Taylor, before the race.  “You’re right,” he replied and we started emailing race prep ideas back and forth as we became increasingly excited during the lead-up to the race weekend.Continue reading “SRAM Singletrack Mind Enduro – Rd 3”
