AMBC New Website Launch + Women’s Development Program

Australian Mountain Bike Clinics have snazzied up their website, developed a more progressive course structure, and (the thing I’m most excited about) have a whole heap of ideas in action to get more women involved in mountain biking.  These include women’s skills camps (with on-site childcare), hot looking “Ride like a girl” jerseys to spice up your riding wardrobe, opportunities to discuss riding off the bike (and arrange that next social ride) via online communities, and a Chix Development Race Team.

The race team structure will include mentoring, skills sessions, riding kit and will provide a community of encouragement for ten women to work toward an enduro race down the track.  I will be working as a coach and mentor for the race team and at the first of the skills camps which is happening in August.  I’m really looking forward to hearing the response to these ideas from the riding community and seeing more women out on the trails, enjoying this sport!

Check out the new AMBC website for more information.
