Copywriting for Tathra Beach and Bike

If you’re planning a holiday to the NSW South Coast, Tathra has quickly become one the prime destinations on any mountain biker’s hit list. I was lucky to join the Flow Mountain Bike crew on a trip there in 2013 to sample the trails, the paddle boarding and the fish and chips. We shot images, video and interviewed local riders and trail builders as part of the ongoing Flow Nation content.

We stayed at Tathra Beach and Bike, a bike and surf shop with spacious accommodation up the top. I’ve since been working with owner, Jane Corben, updating the company’s website. This site has the domain name mountainbiking.com.au, one I’m sure many people wish they found first.

The challenge in developing the written content for the site was finding a way to integrate the several roles this shop plays within the local community. They sell and hire equipment for the trails and the ocean, run lessons and skills clinics, house visitors and are a first point of contact for people seeking tourism information in the area.

Tathra Beach and Bike won a South Coast Tourism award in 2012 for the work they do promoting and servicing the local area. Updating the information available on the site, while keeping it’s welcoming and advisory feel was an important part of their entry in the awards in 2013. I was thrilled to learn they won that award too.

If you haven’t been to Tathra recently, pencil it in for sometime soon. Here’s a link to the Flow Nation film again, and to Damian Breach’s mesmerising images, to whet your appetite.
