Last weekend my good friend Briana and I led one of the MWMTB club’s women’s social rides in the lower Blue Mountains. Briana knows the trails around there much better than anyone else I know and stitched together some fun single tracks, which were challenging without being overly technical, and led to a beautiful lookout.
Around 10 women came along for the two hour ride, which was aimed at encouraging more chicks to get into the sport. The club social rides also help people to build a social network of riders who live nearby and are of a similar skill and enthusiasm level. The biggest buzz of the day for me was listening to the excited riding and event chatter which took place afterward (at my favourite pie shop! Yum yum yum!)!
